Vintage 1965 Fender Jaguar
We purchased this honest workhorse 1965 Fender Jaguar from the original owner’s sister who shared many fond memories of her brother with us. We’re grateful.
Lots of vibey finish wear. (See photos.)
The frets are toast and should be replaced. (It is currently set up and plays well with correct action.)
100% original electronics and hardware (Stackpole pots dated 16th week of ’65), perfectly functional truss rod, the mute foam is in poor shape but the mechanism is fine, original tremolo arm included, etc. Again, an honest player’s example. We don’t see any obvious prior modifications or major repairs.
The pickguard is exhibiting the usual “shrinkage” (a minor case) and didn’t allow us the option of raising the bridge pickup as high as we’d like. But we’ll let the next proud owner disassemble and adjust if necessary.
The original hard case shows wear commensurate with the guitar it’s protected for 50+ years. There’s some black gaff tape holding down one of the leather end caps but the interior is decent and the handle, hinges, and latches (they need a little help to open – their springs are sprung) are all solid and functional.
