Vintage 1960s Holton TR150 Trombone F-Attachment Large Bore
This somewhat scarce Holton TR150 Trombone, introduced in the 1960s and famously associated with Chicago Symphony Orchestra trombonist Frank Crisafulli, was brought in by the second owner who purchased and played it during the 1970s – ’80s.
We noticed an almost “crystalline” appearance to the lacquer and chalked it up to crazing/checking. After having it fully serviced (including a gentle chem bath) the finish went blotchy. Both the technician and I believe it was over-sprayed decades ago – NOT re-lacquered (stripped first). So, the original lacquer remains (we believe). Playability and tone are not affected.
There are no significant dents or signs or structural repair on this Holton TR150 Trombone. It’s clean, smooth, and ready to play. The tone is big and somewhat dark/symphonic.
The original case is included. No mouthpiece.
