The Montreal Assembly Count To 5 is a unique take on a compact delay/sampler pedal. It has 3 main modes which allow pitch delays, random sampling and layered looping. This pedal has the capability to create complex, evolving textures that function almost as an instrument of their own.
Operating Modes
- Mode 1 (Granular Delay): Operates as an “always-listening” delay line. It allows for pitch-shifted repeats, reverse delays, and “flutter” effects. You can use an expression pedal to control parameters like tape direction or feedback.
- Mode 2 (4-Second Looper): Samples a clip of up to 4 seconds and plays it back in slices. You can control the length and randomness of these granular slices, making it popular for glitchy, rhythmic backgrounds.
- Mode 3 (8-Second Multi-Head Looper): A layering mode where a sampled clip is played back by up to three digital “tape heads”. You can independently adjust the speed and direction of each head to build complex harmonies or synth-like pads.
This pedal requires up to 150 mA at 9VDC with the typical 2.1mm negative tip power supply connector. This pedal is true bypass.
