Used MTD Kingston Artist 4
This boutique-inspired instrument designed by master luthier Michael Tobias appears to be an early-run or original version of the MTD Kingston Artist 4 and features a simplified passive layout with only two control knobs (Master Volume and Passive Tone) paired with a single, heavy-duty Music Man–style alnico humbucker in the bridge position. (Later production runs of the Kingston Artist shifted to a four-control active 3-band EQ layout).
This bass has definitely been played, but still in very good condition! There is some finish scuff around the volume control and under the E string (not visible in photos), plus some light finish scratches on the top and back of the body as well. We are also observing a few small indentations on the back of the neck at the 3rd, 5th and 7th frets. Light fret wear observed.
Sounds and plays great! Nice hard case included.
