Most of the wear we’re observing on this vintage and rare Tama RW-326 Rosewood Snare Drum is on the brass hoops and the badge. Some areas of scuffing and degradation are shown in the photos. Otherwise, the beautiful rich rosewood shell is in excellent condition with only one very small mark seen. We’ve added new drum heads and the snares that came in on this drum appear to be aftermarket.
The Tama RW-326 Rosewood Snare Drum, primarily associated with the early 1990s but emerging from late 1980s designs, is a highly sought-after professional snare known for its dense, heavy shell and “solid” tonal profile, featuring a thick 12-ply, 8mm, or sometimes 15-ply, 7.5mm Rosewood shell known for its dark, powerful tone and aggressive attack. It belongs to the Artwood series and is often compared to high-end orchestral or specialized rock snares due to its unique material and construction. Collectors often seek these out as alternatives to the legendary TAMA Mastercraft Rosewood (RW-256), which was the predecessor used by drummers like Alex Van Halen.
