This vintage Rockman Stereo Echo from 1989 is in excellent condition with just some light markings on the housing, primarily on the top and a small amount of paint wear on the top panel edge. There is also some degradation observed on the washers around the jacks on the back.
The Rockman Stereo Echo is a highly sought-after vintage half-rack analog delay unit developed by Tom Scholz of the band Boston. Released in 1987 to replace the delay section of the original Rockman Stereo Chorus/Delay, it is often considered the “Holy Grail” of analog delays due to its warm, tape-like sound and unique stereo interleaving technology.
Features include:
- Delay Range: The left channel provides 75–300 ms, while the right channel offers 125–500 ms.
- Pan Select: A 3-position slide switch allows for different stereo output modes, including mixing echoed signals with a mono main signal or panning them for a wide stereo image.
- Circuitry: It features four BBD (Bucket Brigade Device) chips in series and includes a compandor noise reduction circuit to keep the signal clean at longer delay settings.
- Controls: Includes sliders for individual left/right echo volumes and feedback (adjustable from 1 to infinity).
